Saint Nicholas Festival

Saint Nicholas was born in the late 3rd century in Patara, in the region of Lycia in modern-day Turkey, to devout Christian parents who had dedicated him to God from his birth. He grew to become Archbishop of Myra, where he became renowned for his deep compassion for the poor and his tireless pastoral care for his flock. He also stood firmly for Orthodox doctrine, defending the faith at the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

Above all, St. Nicholas is remembered for his quiet acts of generosity, giving to those in need without seeking recognition. This same spirit of hidden kindness is what inspired the Christmas gift-giving traditions celebrated around the world today.
